Run water in the kitchen sink 45 seconds to 1 minute after the food disappears from the garbage disposal before turning it off.
Do not grind celery, carrot tops, potato peels, artichoke leaves, onion skins, or any other stringy substances in garbage disposal.
Do not put any non-food substances in the garbage disposal.
Do not put grease down either side of the sink.
If water backs up on one side only, the stoppage is probably in the trap. Try a plunger to clear affected side. If water rises in both sinks, stoppage is probably in the pipes at the entrance to the main line. Call maintenance for assistance.
